Math Tools

Numberphile is a Youtube channel that deals with mathematical subjects outside of the usual classroom curriculum. Topics such as number theory, topology, and viral math problems are covered, as well as student misconceptions and the reasoning behind them.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is an organization which does research in mathematics education and the provides updates on new developments in teaching. Among their works is an analysis of the Common Core State Standards as well as The Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, which publishes every month new and original works in the field of math education.

Geometer's Sketchpad, or GSP for short, is a dynamic piece of software that allows geometry students to manipulate and explore mathematical concepts such as shapes and functions. GSP also allows students to learn at their own pace by allowing explicit visualization of geometric ideas and the experimentation to come naturally.  This software is a must for classrooms that learn best through experimentation and creativity.

Khan Academy is a series of Youtube videos that explain math concepts in very good detail. Every high school math subject is covered, allowing for great review material and a different prespective on the current material. In addition, the Khan Academy website has practice problems with instant grading to review your knowledge and progress.
